Spyware maker Paragon will go public through REDLattice SPAC deal after WhatsApp-linked Graphite targeting disclosures

Spyware vendor Paragon is set to become part of a publicly traded U.S. company by the end of 2026, a move that could expand its business while forcing more public disclosures. REDLattice said it will merge with Nasdaq-listed special purpose acquisition company Bold Eagle Acquisition Corp.; Paragon, which AE Industrial Partners previously merged with REDLattice, was identified by WhatsApp in January 2025 as the maker of Graphite spyware used to target about 90 users including journalists and human-rights workers.
Why it matters: This matters because Paragon sells surveillance technology that has already been tied to targeting civil society, and a public listing may help it raise capital and grow. At the same time, public-company filings could give defenders, researchers, investors, and rights groups more visibility into how the spyware business operates.
